This tour takes us on a loop through the different wine regions, each with its distinct character and feel. Well spend the first two nights in a wooded campground along the Russian River. On our first day well explore Armstrong Redwoods Park and then on to Duncan Mills. On Monday, well cycle through the Alexander and Dry Creek Valley. Well have a picnic lunch at one of the incredible wineries we pass and finish the ride at Thunderbird Ranch.
The next day our ride takes us into the Napa Valley to the resort town of Calistoga. Theres a lot of great cycling you can do or you may choose to indulge yourself at one of the spas, explore the towns of Calistoga and St. Helena, tour the Culinary Institute of America or visit the Calistoga Old Faithful Geyser. Well stay at the Pink Mansion, a restored Victorian with spectacular rooms, a heated indoor swimming pool and an outdoor hot tub.
On Thursday, youll cruise along the Silverado Trail, passing the vineyards of many famous wineries, including Cuivason, ZD and Pine Ridge Vineyards. Stop for wine tasting or continue on, as you wish. Well have a picnic lunch at a winery on our way to historic Napa. Friday well cycle through the Carneros Region and then through the Sonoma Town Square, with its galleries, shops and historic buildings and past many of Sonoma Valleys award winning wineries.
Well camp our last night at the secluded group campsite at Spring Lake before cycling back to the Russian River where the trip began.
